Mr. Smith was a long time resident of the Jacksonville area and retired from Memorial Medical Center as an operating room tech in 1986 after 40 years service.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a member of Dignity.

Survivors include sisters, Barbara Martone-Charlestown, RI and Ann Knowles- Orange Park, FL; nephews, Thomas and Kevin Donovan, Michael Martone, Thomas and Michael Knowles; nieces, Karen Lufkin, Barbara Bagley, Catherine Knowles and Ellen Wallace; numerous grand nephews and nieces.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2003, 2:30 PM at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 9401 Staples Mill Dr., Jacksonville, FL with Fr. Caesar Russo, Celebrant.
