1st Lt Andrew P. Slivka
Bombardier

Andrew Slivka was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1921, He graduated from John Adams High School in 1939. 

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying combat missions over Japan and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war he served in the Air Force Reserves, rising to the rank of colonel. 

He graduated from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) and subsequently taught mechanical engineering at Fenn for 5 years. He earned a Bachelor of Law from Cleveland Marshall Law School and maintained an active practice of  law until he was appointed bailiff for the Judge Edward Crudele at the Garfield Heights Municipal Court, a position he held for 14 years. 

In 1976  he began serving as  Judge of the Garfield Heights Municipal Court, a position he held for the next 18 years until his retirement in 1994.

He had been living in Columbus, Ohio for the past 9 years.

Judge Slivka married Yolanda Casini, they have 2 children, Susan and Andrew, Jr. They have four grandsons.

Judge Andrew P. Slivka took his Final Flight on 8 March 2013.
