Received an email notification that Gordon Walker took his final flight as such he has been added to the Crew 14 Honor Roll and the Final Flight Honor Roll section of the web site.

20 July 2006: Received an email from the niece of S/Sgt Willert H. Lynn identifying him in the above crew photo and letting us know that he has aken his Final Flight - as such we have added him to the Crew Honor Roll and the Final Flight Honor Roll section of the web site.


The crew of P-14 named their plane "Southern Drawl." They had 35 missions over the Japanese Islands with approximately 500 flight hours. They were recipients of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Clusters, and two Battle Stars for the fire raid on Tokyo and the Okinawa Invasion. P-14 was credited with downing 14 Japanese aircraft including a Betty, Zero's and Zeke's
P-14 and other B-29s from the 39th BG over the heart of Yokohoma
