Guam 1945

I returned to the states from Guam in May 1946, and enrolled at the University of Illinois in June to work on a M.S. in Agricultural Education.

The following year I accepted a position at Wenona, Illinois, as the high school vocational agriculture teacher. While at Wenona, I met my wife, Gladys Anderson, who was the English/Speech teacher, and we were married in January 1954.

We then moved to Champaign, Illinois, where I began work on my doctorate in Education, which I completed in 1956.

My professional life included service at the University of Vermont, Purdue University, and the University of Illinois.

Gladys and I have three sons - Jeff, an MD at Canton, Illinois, Larry, who is self-employed in urban design and development in Carmel, Indiana, and Robert, an industrial technology instructor in the Miami Dade School System. We have seven grandchildren.

I retired from the University of Illinois in 1983 as a professor Emeritus, and we have maintained our residence in Champaign, Illinois.
