While
attending the group reunion in York, PA the above 5 crew
members were able to reunite with each other at the home
of their Tail Gunner, Pat Mastromatteo. For some of them
they hadn't seen Pat since their days on Guam.
Also
in attendence for this crew reunion were Alice, wife of
Art Swanberg, Liz Van Kampen, Mary Rudolph daughters of
Jim Schwoegler, and Jim Rudolph, Schwoegler's grandson.
They
all had a great time eating pizza together and reminiscing
for the family members it was meeting the tail gunner
of the crew for the first time and hearing his remembrances
of the crew's missions.
Last
year at the 2002 reunion 5 members of the crew were able
to reunite - Costa, Swanberg, Schwoegler, Weiler and Wyckoff
- maybe in 2004 all of the 6 surviving members of the
crew and their families will be able to get together. |
